Hello! Today, I'd like to introduce Singer Gain 3, which recently concluded. Singer Gain is a 'rebooting audition program that helps singers who need another chance to stand before the public again.' Through this program, many contestants who were unknown singers were able to take the stage, sing, and receive encouragement from a large audience. So, let me introduce how Singer Gain 3 was conducted and what the final results were!
*This post contains spoilers.
Singer Gain 3 consisted of a total of 4 rounds, semi-finals, and finals. This time, a total of 77 singers participated. Each participant was given a number from 1 to 77 and a keyword instead of a name. Hong Isak, who won, was singer No. 58, 'wanting to know the expiration date,' and So Su-bin, who came in 2nd place, was singer No. 49, 'easy.' Through these keywords, we could see what kind of feelings and backgrounds each participant had when they joined the show, and I thought it was a pretty good concept. Now, let me tell you how each round went!

Round 1: In the group survival round, the contestants were divided into groups. They competed in groups of hidden masters, Sugarman, genuine unknowns, soloists, OST, and audition champions. The judges decided whether a contestant passed or failed by pressing the 'Again' button for those they wanted to hear sing again. Since this was the first round where contestants introduced themselves and their voices to the public, most chose songs that showed their individuality. Some songs were familiar, and some contestants were already famous even though their faces weren't well-known.

Round 2: In the team competition round, teams were formed, and two teams competed against each other. When they sang together, it created a richer sound, and I think there were many great performances.
Round 3: In the rivalry round, contestants designated their rivals to compete against. Teams that previously showed good chemistry also competed as rivals, which created excitement and regret. Still, I think they showed great performances.

Round 4: The Top 10 determination round involved teams of four, with the top two from each team automatically advancing to the Top 10. It was the moment when the Top 10 was determined, consisting of the top 8 and 2 from the losers' revival round. When advancing to the Top 10, contestants had a naming ceremony where they revealed their names and sang their own songs, making it a meaningful event.

Semi-finals: The Top 6 determination round featured the naming ceremony and intense competition. While only 6 contestants were supposed to advance, the judges proposed a Top 7 to the production team due to the intense competition. As a result, a Top 7 was formed instead of a Top 6.

Finals: The finals were held in two rounds. Round 1 was the new song mission, where contestants sang songs composed by composers. The scores were calculated based on the judges' scores, music chart playback counts, and YouTube views/likes. Round 2 was the cover mission, where scores were calculated based on real-time text voting, online pre-voting, and judges' scores. Ultimately, the final result reflected 30% from Round 1 + 60% from Round 2 + 10% from online pre-voting. Due to the complex scoring method and the lack of real-time results, it was difficult to predict the winner.

The final results were: 1st place Hong Isak, 2nd place So Su-bin, 3rd place Izel, 4th place Shin Hae-sol, 5th place Lee Jin, 6th place Kang Sung-hee, and 7th place Choo Seung-yeop. Now, let's find out what benefits they received. First, the Top 10 receive the opportunity to participate in a nationwide tour concert. The Top 3 receive 1 year of management, a sofa, and a 30 million won prize. The 1st place winner also receives a 300 million won prize. That's a huge benefit, right? I think it's a great opportunity that even making it to the Top 10 allows you to participate in a concert together.
The Singer Gain competition, which ran for a total of 3 months, has come to an end. I want to applaud the contestants and cast who worked hard from the initial auditions to the recording and broadcast! I found it truly healing to listen to the contestants' stories and songs every week. I'm also grateful that I got to discover these gem-like singers that I wouldn't have known otherwise. I hope there will be more programs like this to support numerous artists who lack a platform!

Finally, as a loyal viewer who watched Singer Gain 3 every week, I'd like to share the charm that I found unique to Singer Gain. First, it doesn't promote excessive competition. In competition programs, they often create an overly competitive environment or use malicious editing to attract high viewership and attention. While competition is necessary for the nature of the program, I felt a sense of comfort because it felt like they were trying to keep things simple. It was also fun to see the human side of the judges. ㅎㅎ
Second, it didn't just showcase the singing but also shared the sincere stories of each contestant. Learning about their journey to participate in Singer Gain and why they decided to join made their songs feel even more genuine.
Finally, something that surprised me was that they didn't concentrate all the prize money on the winner. Typically, audition programs give the prize money only to the winner. But in Singer Gain, they gave a considerable amount of prize money and gifts to the 2nd and 3rd place winners, which made me think it was a bit different.
This concludes my introduction to Singer Gain. If you're tired of stimulating competition programs, I recommend Singer Gain 3, an authentic program that you can enjoy and relax with! I'll introduce another fun entertainment program next time. Thank you for reading:)
