Hello everyone! Have you seen the entertainment show called Change Days? It became a hot topic because, unlike other dating programs, couples who are currently dating appear on the show. It's similar to "Transfer Love," where you appear with your exes. So, today I'm going to introduce you to Change Days and compare it to "Transfer Love"!

First of all, Change Days is an original entertainment show on KakaoTV. It aired on KakaoTV and Netflix in 2021 for season 1 and 2022 for season 2. It is a program where three couples who are considering breaking up gather and spend a week in Jeju Island to reconsider their relationship. During this process, as in other dating programs, they go on dates with other people and get to know each other. Even though they are considering breaking up, watching a couple who are in a relationship date other people seems really difficult. It's a stimulating subject, Change Days. Let's dive into the comparison with "Transfer Love."

Commonalities with "Transfer Love"

Appearance: The biggest commonality with "Transfer Love" is that couples appear together. The difference is that Change Days is with current lovers and "Transfer Love" is with former lovers. It seems like both programs would have had a difficult time recruiting participants. Both would need to be willing to appear and have star power, right? Actually, there's a story that in this season 3 of "Transfer Love," the production team sent DMs to 30,000 people and even did street casting.

Relationship: It's common that both programs have complicated relationships, unlike other dating shows. In dating programs where you meet completely new people, you only need to worry about your own heart and what you see. However, both "Transfer Love" and Change Days share a commonality in that you need to consider your ex's situation or the partner of the person you are interested in.

Final choice: It's also common that both programs have two options for the final choice. Usually, in dating programs, you choose the one person you are interested in. However, Change Days and "Transfer Love" have one more option, which is to get back together. It seems that it makes the final choice more complicated and unpredictable.

Differences from "Transfer Love"

Relationship: This is also a point of difference in the relationship. First, it's the difference between whether a couple is "currently in a relationship" or "a couple that has broken up". In "Transfer Love," you appear with your ex, but it's after you've already resolved your relationship. Moreover, since there is a rule that you have to hide who your exes are, it seems that even though it's hard, you can get to know other people with a slightly lighter heart. On the other hand, in Change Days, even though they are considering breaking up, they are currently in a relationship, so it seems that they had limitations in dating and getting to know other people.

Duration: There is a difference in the shooting duration. "Transfer Love" is 3 weeks, and Change Days is 1 week in season 1 and 2 weeks in season 2. A week is a very short time to get to know someone. It seems that it was less engaging compared to "Transfer Love" where they film for 3 weeks.

Ending: The ending shows a clear difference. In "Transfer Love," the ratio of getting back together with an ex or being with a new person is similar. It seems that "Transfer Love" is a suitable program for both looking back on your past relationship and getting to know new people. However, in Change Days, there were no cases of choosing a new person during the two seasons that aired. Everyone chose to reunite or break up. This seems to be the limitation caused by the relationship and duration I mentioned earlier.

Change Days was a hot topic in the beginning, but it didn't maintain its popularity until the end due to the evaluation that it was a predictable result. Of course, it seems unrealistic to choose someone else in a week while you are with a partner who hasn't broken up with you. It seems that many couples who appeared on Change Days recovered their relationship by dating other people. They probably felt the preciousness of each other through this process. However, there is definitely a need to improve the way the program is run or its rules.
