Youth-Specific Climate Action Card
The Climate Action Card is an integrated public transportation pass that allows you to use public transportation (subway, bus), and even Ttareungi (optional), unlimited for 30 dayswith a single top-up. It offers unlimited public transportation access at a reasonable price of 65,000 won (including Ttareungi) or 62,000 won (excluding Ttareungi). But that's not all! The Seoul Metropolitan Government is launching a youth-specific card starting February 26th to ease the burden of transportation costs for young people. The youth fare is 58,000 won (including Ttareungi) or 55,000 won (excluding Ttareungi).
Refund Method for Usage Before July (~June 30th)
- How to Use: The Climate Action Card is currently in a pilot program until June. If you top up your card during this period, the youth discount will be applied retroactively. Use it like a regular card, but within 30 days of starting usage, you need to register your card on the Tmoney Card & Pay website. If you're using a mobile card, it will be automatically registered, so you don't need to do anything extra!
- Refund Process: Starting in July, you can apply for the youth discount on the Tmoney website. After verifying your age and registering your bank account, you'll receive the refund within 30 days. It's important to note that you can only apply for a refund after the 30-day usage period of the card you topped up in June is over. For example, if you topped up your card on June 30th, you can use it until July 29th and then apply for a refund.
Usage Method After July (July 1st onwards)
- How to Use: From July onwards, a separate youth card option will be available. You can either purchase a youth card or continue using your existing card. If you're using an existing card, you can select the youth option when topping it up.
- Topping Up: The top-up process is similar to the regular card. However, you can only select the discount option if you are a youth who has been pre-verified on the website. The website verification process remains the same as before. Since age verification is crucial for the youth option, make sure to verify your age and register your card number on the website!
